How the ACE can Facilitate the internship programme Appoint an Industry Liaison Officer responsible for coordinating internships and relationship with industry Establish partnership with the organizations you intend to send the students Ensure that the student s discipline should be relevant to the organization s operations Where possible, the industry-based supervisor could form part of the research supervisory team of the student Do not burden the organization with financial commitments Interns should be required to identify problems and opportunities in the industry visited; develop a research approach towards solving the problem; present and submit report of their activities during the internship to the Centre.
