Introduction Follow the recent BeMS upgrade at Derby Casino which was complete by the end of May 2022 we wanted to show the benefits the installation has provided to Genting. The existing BMS System was an aged Wireless Building Management System, which due to the age of the system, (circa 20+ years) was no longer able to be controlled locally. The old system was at end of life and replacement parts are now obsolete and the head end PC was not operational. Migrating the BeMS system from WEMS to Trend has a magnitude of advantages, not least that it is an open protocol system, and not closed like the old WEMS system. We initially looked at migration to the closed protocol system which has now superseded WEMS, however when no clear cost saving could be made, it followed logically that this was not the most suitable solution. Ascot Services carried out the Installation of 2 small Trend IQ4 panels, 1 within the kitchen and the other installed within the games area. Installation of a new Trend IQ4E and associated modules were installed within the existing MCC panel. Allowance was made to link the server/ headend back to the existing Genting IQ vision in the Ascot Bureau which would allow for any changes to be implemented remotely. Full graphical representation of all BMS points within the new Trend controllers that are installed were produced. Temperature sensors were replaced as the existing sensors are not compatible with the new proposed Trend system. Replacement inverters have been installed to AHU 1,2,3 & 4 Kitchen supply & extract fans and flue dilation fan. Following completion of the above installation energy saving strategies have been implemented into the BeMS software to reduce the operational hours of the plant and equipment. AHU s have been set to run only when required and not 24/7 when the casino is not open. Implementing these changes has seen a reduction in energy consumption and costs whilst maintaining the environmental conditions when the casino is operational. Evidence of this can be seen in the report below.

Cheaper to install but ongoing support costs high as only one support partner and ongoing battery changes IQ Vision has the latest security features built in, can be used with the company LDAP credentials. IQ Vision IoT (Internet of Things) ready. IQ Vision can be installed on virtual servers anywhere more robust system. IQ Vision supports the latest Windows software future proofing the investment. IQ Vision is constantly being updated. IQ Vision is becoming Building Energy Management System standardised software.
BeMS Savings Through the implementation of the energy saving strategies you can see the saving below.
