Benefits Open Enrollment oALL benefits-eligible employees are REQUIRED to attend a Benefits Open Enrollment session even if you are not making changes to your benefits. Sessions for the Columbus campus will be October 14 - October 17 in Shattuck Gallery. oThe Tupelo campus sessions will be October 10 in Tupelo. oRemote employees will conduct their session via telephone. 2
Benefits Open Enrollment What s New for Year 2020? State Health Insurance Premium Increase Premium rates increase 3%. View the 2020 rate sheet: http://knowyourbenefits.dfa.ms.gov/media/8980/cy-2020-rate-sheet.pdf Reliance Standard Disability Open Enrollment Disability insurance is not typically part of open enrollment but Reliance is offering a one month open enrollment opportunity for the first time since 2012. Employees have the option to increase coverage or enroll for the first time. There is guaranteed acceptance unless you were previously denied coverage. Employees previously denied are subject to medical underwriting. You must complete a form indicating your decision: no change, change coverage, enroll or decline. 3
Benefits Open Enrollment What is Open Enrollment? During the Open Enrollment period, employees may add new coverage, change existing coverage, or cancel coverage. Open Enrollment is the only time that certain benefits coverage may be changed unless the employee has a Status Change. Examples of Status Changes are: marriage, divorce, birth, death, adoption or a change of your spouse's employment. 4
Benefits Open Enrollment What if I m not making any changes to my benefits? All benefits-eligible employees are REQUIRED to attend a benefits open enrollment session EVEN if you are not making changes. Employees must sign a form for Reliance Standard Disability Insurance indicating your intention for this benefit: no change, change coverage, enroll or decline. 5
Benefits Open Enrollment When is Open Enrollment? October 1, 2019 through October 31, 2019 at 1:00 pm. (Late enrollments cannot be processed.) When are Open Enrollment elections effective? All Open Enrollment elections are effective on January 1, 2020. Premium deductions begin December 2019 for changes in health insurance. All other deductions begin January 2020. 6
Benefits Open Enrollment Who is Eligible for Coverage? A Benefits-eligible employee is 50% time or greater with employment expected to continue for more than 4.5 months. Dependents and/or family members eligible for coverage include legal spouse (for health insurance), domestic partner or dependent children. Dependent children may enroll with one primary employee enrollee and are eligible to age 26 regardless of student or marital status. 7
Benefits Open Enrollment What is a Cafeteria Plan? A Section 125 Cafeteria Plan is merely a tax savings plan which allows participating employees to deduct certain expenses from gross earnings before the computation of federal, state, and social security taxes. Our Plan Year: January 1, 2020 - December 31, 2020 Since the plan reduces reportable taxable income, you may incur a reduced Social Security benefit at the time of retirement. The extent of this reduction depends on both the length of time under the pre-tax benefit plan and the total amount of tax reductions. 8
Benefits Open Enrollment When are the Benefits Open Enrollment sessions and how do I register for a time? o Columbus campus: Monday, October 15th through Thursday, October 17th , 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Multiple sessions are scheduled every 15 minutes in Shattuck Gallery. o Remote employees are included with the Columbus campus sessions and should register online with the phone number where you can be reached at your scheduled time. o REGISTRATION for Columbus campus and remote employees is online: https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=18349740&appoint mentType=11498030 o Tupelo campus: Thursday, October 10th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Tupelo employees are already scheduled and no further registration is necessary. 9
Current Benefits Eligible for Pre-tax Through MUW Cafeteria Plan When making your on-line election, click the pre-tax radio button if you wish to have your premiums pre-taxed under our plan. (see enrollment instructions on following slides) Insurances (Not all insurance is eligible for pre-tax) Child/Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts* If you have dependents that require care while you and your spouse work, participation in this part of the plan can save taxes by pre-taxing the expense. Simply estimate your dependent care expenses for the plan year, up to a maximum of $5,000 per calendar year, ($2,500 if married filing a separate return.) Your election will be divided by the number of pay periods in the plan year and deducted pre-tax. For more information visit: https://www.sabcflex.com/content/dependent-care If you have medical expenses which you have to pay out of your own pocket, such as your medical deductibles, co-insurance, dental expenses, eye care expenses, etc., you may save valuable tax dollars by pre-taxing these expenses. To participate, you estimate the out-of-pocket medical expenses you will incur during the plan year up to a maximum of $2,700. Your plan year election will be divided by the number of deductions (12) in the plan year and deducted pre-tax. After eligible expenses have been incurred, submit proof of the expense with a reimbursement form or online. Eligible expenses will be reimbursed up to your annual election amount. Medical Reimbursement Accounts* For more information on eligible expenses, go to www.sabcflex.com/content/eligible-medical- expenses. Expenses may be for you, your spouse or children under age 27. Contact SABC (601.856.9933) if you have questions about specific expenses. *Elections under Child/Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts and/or Medical Reimbursed Accounts should be conservative. Any monies not claimed by the end of the plan year or at least sixty (60) days after the close of the plan year, will be forfeited. Open Enrollment Online Instructions 1. To enroll, go to http://www.sabcflex.com. 2. Click on SABCElect ON-LINE. Login screen will appear. 3. Your user ID is your Banner ID number, no dashes. Your password is your six digit date of birth (MMDDYY). Access portal use is not required and do NOT use management login. 4. Click Login. 5. Review and revise any personal information that is incorrect. Follow the instructions to the next page. 6. Continue through the steps. If you wish to enroll in the dental, vision or any of the listed products, click Enroll to the right of the product and complete the online application. Once the application is complete, you will be returned to the Cafeteria plan enrollment. To remove any supplemental insurance, click Cancel Coverage to the right of the product. 7. Make your Flexible Spending election if desired. The yearly maximum is $2,700. If you are enrolling for the first time, contact Human Resources for instructions or call SABC directly at 601.856.9933. 8. Read the plan provisions, check the acknowledgement box and sign using your Banner ID. Please print a copy for your records and click done. 12
