Since 2014, Colombia's National Statistic System (NSS) has been undergoing modernization and innovation to enhance the generation, production, and dissemination of statistics. The incorporation of non-traditional data sources, such as Big Data, has revolutionized the statistical process, emphasizing the importance of utilizing Smart Data. Various projects leveraging Big Data tools have been implemented to improve data accuracy, identification processes, and analytical capabilities. Key initiatives include updating the Statistic Directory, improving identification and location data for hotels, optimizing the Business Consumer Price Index collection process, and utilizing integrated systems to address gender violence. These transformative efforts reflect a commitment to enhancing the quality, consistency, and comparability of statistical data in Colombia.
