Broader Impacts Community Timeline April 24-26, 2013 1st Broader Impacts Infrastructure Summit hosted by MU. Funded by internal grant from Mizzou Advantage and a small reg fee. Participants subscribed to National BI Listserv September 1, 2013 NSF awards MU a planning grant to plan national BI network & submit a Research Collaboration Network (RCN) proposal to fund the network. October 22-23, 2013 RCN proposal preparation workshop hosted at Northwestern
Broader Impacts Community Timeline November 15, 2013 RCN proposal submitted. Principal Investigator Susan Renoe, Missouri Co-Principal Investigators Jane Horwitz, Penn Kemi Jona, Northwestern Kevin Niemi, Wisconsin Diane Rover, Iowa State Key Personnel Megan Heitmann, Iowa State Amy Pratt, Northwestern Kaye Storm, Stanford March 7, 2014 NSF EPSCoR Workshop proposal awarded to provide funding for 2014 BI Infrastructure Summit. Principal Investigator Susan Renoe, Missouri Co-Principal Investigator Diane Rover, Iowa State April 16-18, 2014 The second BI Infrastructure Summit held in Arlington, VA

We welcome any & all ideas for the future of this community & ask for your expertise & resources to share. The goal is that by the end of the 5-year RCN award, BIONIC will become a self-sustaining membership organization.
BIONIC Objectives 1. Identify and curate promising models, practices, & evaluation methods for the BI community 2. Expand engagement in and support the development of high-quality BI activities by educating current & future faculty and researchers on effective BI practices 3. Develop the human resources necessary for sustained growth & increased diversity of the BI community 4. Promote cross-institutional collaboration on & dissemination of BI programs, practices, models, materials, and resources
