Blessedness comes from obedience and unity. Obedience is following instructions, while unity is working together towards common goals. This story illustrates how obedience led to blessings and highlights the importance of unity among God's children to receive His blessings.

INTRODUCTION Blessedness Blessedness comes from the word blessing or blessed. Its means happy or good condition of life Blessedness is a situation whereby an individual or a group of people enjoy some reward for a job or assignment well done (Matthew 25:19-23) Obedience Obedienceis doing something exactly the way someone is asked to do it Unity Unity is a situation where a group of people do things in agreement or with one mind in order to achieve set goals and objectives.
Olawas blessed with Christian parents, they taught him to love and obey the word of God . After he finished his Elementary school, he was offered admission to a boarding school for his high school Education His parents bought Bible with other things, they specifically told him to always read his Bible. Ola did not know that his parent had put some money in the Bible for him in case he ran out of money He ran out of money, not too long after he got to school He wrote a letter to his parents to demand some money INTRODUCTION CONT D.
His parents replied by telling him to read his Bible He obeyed and opened the Bible to read, and he was surprised to see some money tucked within the pages of the Bible. The money was enough to last for a term. He was happy Obedience Obedience brings brings blessings blessings. if Ola had not obeyed, he would not have see the money kept in the Bible. Obedience connects children with God and all His blessings. God wants His children to be in a blessed state every day of their lives. Blessing increase when there is obedience and unity among His people but God withdraws His presence when there is no unity and obedience. INTRODUCTION CONT D.

Obedience is a subject that runs through the Bible. The basis or foundation of our relationship with God our Creator, is in our desire to obey Him. God demands obedience to His words from Genesis to Revelation He called the Nation of Israel repeatedly to obey His commandments. He also demands that they unite together and serve Him with one mind and purpose. Obedience to all His instruction was the only way they could enjoy uninterrupted blessings that will make other nations to envy them. The results of their disobedience was trouble, defeat, affliction, suffering and loss of fellowship with God. Obedience brings blessing while disobedience brings punishment. Obedience and unity are the marks that separates true friends of Jesus from others. Born again children are to be united with other members of the church in Prayer, preaching ,persevering in faith, holiness, and preparation for the coming of the Lord.
A sinful child need to obey Gods call to be born again, Repent, confess your sins and turn away from them. Ask for forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus and become a new creature This is the beginning of your union with God and His people( the church) Always desire to obey all the commandment of God. Then , your life will witness a turn around that you be blessed and become a blessing to others.

PRACTICAL EXAMPLES OF OBEDIENCE AND UNITY AMONG GOD S CHILDREN: Psalms 128:1,131:1-3,132:1-5: 133:1-3 Bible records show that majority of the people that had encounter with God, later became disobedient. This leads to total rejection by God. We have significant few who chose the path of obedience and became beacons of light to many generations. These include: A- Abraham- he obeyed God in word and actions. He became a father of many nations because he obeyed God s call. B- Noah-Obeyed God by building the ark and also taught his family to obey God too. They were united in their obedience to God s command .
C- Joshua-He was consistent in serving the Lord and even challenged others to choose whom they would serve. God blessed and honoured him that the sun and moon obeyed him. D- Samuel from his childhood was obedient to God , when it was difficult to do so. He became a priest , prophet and Judge E- Joseph-He feared the Lord and Obeyed Him even when his brother were doing otherwise . He was promoted in a strange land F- The disciples of Jesus boldly confessed that they will rather obey God than man. They were united and stood for the truth. They did great exploits for God empowered them.
G-Timothy chose to obey the word of God he was taught by his mother and grandmother . He became a godly example to others. H-Eunice became a blessed mother when she taught her son Timothy the word of God I- Mary the sister of Martha chose the right path of Obedience. She sat at the feet of Christ to learn the word of life. She became a blessings to generation Follow the example of those who obeyed the word of God in their lifetime , then your life will be a good testimony to encourage others
Every desire is available in God s word. The path of Obedience is the sure way to benefit from these blessings. blessing you The key to open God s treasure house is 3. Determine to follow the Lord and serve Him all the days of your life.
Intercede for others especially members of the body of Christ Emphasise holy living in your speech; action and general life style. Never yield to the temptation to cause division in the church Consecrate your life to serve God with your talents and substance Enlighten others with the word of life through regular evangelism. Obedience to God s word and unity bring the Blessings of VICTORY, HEALING, PROMOTION, PROVISION AND PROTECTION.
The disciples of Christ overcame their persecutors, and the church was able to stand because they were united and obedient to God We challenges ,if we are united can overcome 3.
