  3. Trustees are to Be Stewards of the property God has entrusted to the congregation. Supervise and Maintain property use Follow legal and conference requirements Enable & empower the church to make disciples of Jesus Christ using the property (job description, Discipleship Ministries)

  4. Trustees are to Be familiar and have access to the Book of Discipline. Para 201, 202 and 2525-2535 Collaborate with church council and pastor in the safety, direction and work of the church Communicate well and often with congregation

  5. Trustee Makeup Trustee Makeup: 3-9 Members At least a third laywomen At least a third laymen At least 2/3 local church members of your church

  8. Trustee Officers Trustee Officers: elected by new class in January! Must elect officers in 1st30 days of every new year Officers are chairperson, vice chairperson, secretary. (Treasurer, only if needed) Chairperson: effective ministry leadership, stewardship of assets, and evidence of active and growing discipleship.

Trustee meetings Trustee meetings Called by pastor or chairperson published in advance to all trustees Minimum is once per year; between 4-10 meetings / year is much more effective Minutes must be taken and filed as official record in church office Quorum = majority of elected members (para. 2532)
