Lay out and mark off pipe work sections
Pipe fabrication marking-off tools are used to lay out angles, find center lines of pipes, scribe straight lines around pipes, plumb and square pipes together.
Here is the information about some of the some of the drawing and the marking- off equipment and measuring tools that you need to know .
A framing square A framing square is also called a carpenters square or a steel square for different tasks. A framing square is made up of two parts: the toque and the body or blade. The toque is shorter, narrower part and the body is longer than wider part. The point where the toque and the body meet on the outside edge is called the heel. We most commonly use the 300mm by 400mm framing square and 600mm framing square
A combination set A combination set is made up of four parts. These four parts allow you to use these this tool to do different lay out and fabrication jobs.
A center finder A another tool that you can use to find the center of the pipe is the center finder. The center finder, also called the centering head consist of a Y type head straddles the pipe, a centering pin and an adjustable dial bubble protractor. The center finder will indicate the center point at an angle away from top dead center.
