A great program, but room to improve A recommitment to our Program Aims and Values Improved ABIM pass rate Being fully present and engaged The pandemic restrictions hurt. There was a shift in getting the most out of every day and opportunity to trying to be here as little as possible. A commitment to noon didactics from residents and faculty Vitally important as it serves our goals of community, excellence in patient care, medical knowledge, ABIM pass rate, scholarly activity, and quality improvement Clear professionalism expectations, commitment, and enforcement
Noon Didactics Updates (I ve been very lonely at didactics)
Noon Didactics Updates ACGME Requirement to Provide Protected Didactic Time 2022-2023 Attendance Top Attendees: Stacey Hatch, Abraham Saleem, Celestine Mba, Nirmala Ghimirey, Jordan Hatch
Noon Didactics Updates 60% required attendance for promotion and graduation -Minimum expectation -Has always been mandatory except on ICU/CCU/NF/Pre-Call/Post-Call.
Noon Didactics Updates Protected Time -I need to know if rounding is keeping you from conference so I can address. Many times attendings need a reminder from you that you are going to didactics -If morning IMC runs past noon, still come attend and sign in noting you had IMC and the time you got to conference -Most secure chats can be responded to with I m at protected didactic time but will get back to you at 1 PM. -Obviously urgent patient issues take priority, but should be done so by the senior most resident on the team when possible. -Med team discharges, TCC notes, etc. can wait until after conference
Noon Didactics Updates We are working to improve the quality of the didactic content. We appreciate feedback. Our presentations are high quality and can be listed on CVs, and as such, should be prepared for and presented as you would at a professional meeting. We show up on time. Noon. But it s okay and expected to come late if you can t make it on time. Patient Care Conferences are being Resurrected

Closing Remarks There is nothing new under the sun. Little has changed. The program is strong, we just need a recommitment to what has always made us great: providing world class care to our patients, pursuing excellence, and a commitment to one another and our culture. We have a STRONG program. We should take pride in our residency and in the care we give our patients. The program is here to help us give compassionate world class care to our patients and to become the best physicians we can be. We all must bring our abilities and talents to the program. Everyone brings something.
First say to yourself what you would be: and then do what you have to do. -Epictetus
