Introduction In an effort to enhance the educational opportunities for learners, secondary schools in Bridgend are diligently working to expand their A level course offerings. This initiative aims to minimize the need for learners to transfer between schools, thereby reducing transportation costs and maximizing the time learners can dedicate to their studies. The schools participating in this collaborative effort include Archbishop McGrath High School, Brynteg School, Coleg Cymunedol Y Dderwen, Cynffig Comprehensive, Maesteg School, and Pencoed Comprehensive. To achieve this, a hybrid learning model has been introduced, where subjects such as Computer Science, Geography, Media, Spanish, and Welsh will be taught online by two designated schools. There will be opportunity for in-person lessons that will run from September to October half term. Each subject will plan extra in-person lessons to suit the needs of the subject specification. Learners will be advised of these lessons, and transport will be arranged by the home school to transport learners to the teaching school . We want positive relationships to be achieved through the in-person lessons so that the transition from in-person to online is as smooth as possible. Additionally, each learner's home school will provide a one-hour support session with a subject teacher from their own school. This approach ensures that learners have access to a broader range of A level subjects without the need to leave their home school, fostering a more stable and supportive learning environment.
