Professionalism 1.2 Use reflection and self-regulation to manage personal values and maintain professionalism in practice situations. 1.3 Demonstrate professional demeanor in behavior; appearance; and oral, written, and electronic communication. 1.4 Use technology ethically and appropriately to facilitate practice outcomes.
Fall Field Semester Dates August 28, 2023 to December 01, 2023
Students Duties for BSW: SWK 4900 Complete a minimum total of 400 hours during their practicum semester Students need to receive 1 hour of supervision weekly Students must attend & engage in practicum activities at least four days weekly Average 32 hours per week The schedule must be documented on their learning contract
Employment-Based Students must have designated time for field hours and tasks Students must have a designated field supervisor or task instructor that is not their employment supervisor to sign their learning contract and performance evaluations and timesheets/supervision logs if completing an existing employment field agreement. Must have an application/agreement on file with Field Director
BSW Specializations School Social Work Licensure EVEL STATUS. MUST RECEIVE SUPERVISION FROM A LICENCED SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER - AT LEAST AN A Child Welfare Collaborative
CHILD WELFARE EDUCATION COLLABORATIVE SUPERVISION Review Collaborative Curriculum Matrix Research Child Welfare in North Carolina Create a Learning Contract with Pre-Service Training Competencies & Learning Objectives Complete Pre-Service Training Competencies & Learning Objectives Complete 400 hours of Pre-Service
Pre-Application Process in Tevera Read and Review Field Manual and Student Handbook and sign the Field Manual and Student Handbook acknowledgement form. Upload Resume Complete the Field Application
Things to Do: BSW Students After students submit their field application then the next step is purchasing professional liability insurance by March 1, 2023. Instructions on how to submit the professional liability insurance is in Tevera.
Field Application Deadline The deadline for the field application is March 1, 2023. Failure to submit your completed field application by the deadline may put you at risk for not having a field placement and having to repeat field practicum seminar.
Field Manual Update Students should not contact placement sites to establish placement. Failure to adhere to this may result in the student having to withdraw from field practicum seminar which will delay the student s graduation date.
