Building Learning Communities Chapter Two
Basic Principles I 1. The measure of good teaching is how well the students learn to learn. 2. So, while they are with us, we need to build them into an inquiring, collaborating, caring community. 3. We need to teach them the best we know about learning our finest models of learning.
Every model of teaching is also a Model of Learning. We teach our learning communities the models that will pay off for them at their Grade Level and in the Core Curriculum Areas. The students work together to LEARN and to BECOME MORE POWERFUL learners.
The core of classroom management is teaching students an array of models of learning and how to use them.
