  4. Our clubs alone often do not have enough members, but our Kiwanis family has enough hands!

  5. Elementary School An Opportunity to Develop Mutually-Beneficial Relationships through Service and Mentorship Students

  6. Largest service organization for elementary school students, with more than 1,200 clubs worldwide. Our mission is to provide members with opportunities to perform service, build character and develop leadership. Kids discover their passion to serve, desire to lead and their ability to engage and collaborate with others to better the school and community. K-Kids is structured only on the local club level but is supported by district volunteers K-Kids can be established not only in elementary schools but also churches, libraries, YMCAs, lodges or similar facilities.

  7. Middle School An Opportunity to Develop Mutually-Beneficial Relationships through Service and Mentorship Students

  8. 38,000 students worldwide are involved in the program throughout 19 countries Service leadership program for middle school students in grades 6-8 Builders Club empowers youth as they navigate this in-between-stage of life Members develop self-awareness as they discover their passion to serve, their desire to lead and their ability to engage and collaborate with others. Service to school and community become a way of life!

Adults with disabilities ages 18 and older 11,000 members worldwide in 14 countries We believe development has no disability Aim to develop capable, caring, and competent leaders through service Club structure models that of Kiwanis Typically coordinated through a community agency/facility, but there are some general community groups Agency or organization advisor works hand-in-hand with Kiwanis advisor

Establishing Mutually-Beneficial Relationships The Club Chartering Process 1) Secure a sponsoring Kiwanis Club 2) Select a site There are many individuals within the Capital District who can provide support through the process. School (K-Kids/Builder s Clubs) Agency (Aktion Club) 3) Meet with administrative staff 4) Secure a school or agency advisor 5) Host interest meetings

Establishing Mutually-Beneficial Relationships 6) Download the chartering toolkit https://www.kiwanis.org/clubs/member-resources/service-leadership/start-a-service- leadership-program-club/start-a-club-kiwanis-club-or-community-organization 7) Officially organize the club with Kiwanis International s approval 8) Host a chartering night ceremony This process usually takes 3-6 months from start to finish depending on your partner school/agency 9) Support the club
