Within the past year 1.5 million children and young people have been bullied.
Every day 160,000 children aged 5 to 19 are too scared to go to school.
36% of children and young people who have been bullied said it made them feel depressed
Children and young people can be bullied for lots of different reasons from appearance and accents to gender and race This can have a negative impact on your confidence and self-esteem.
Activity! Stand-up if you have blonde hair and brown eyes
Even though you have similar features, you are all different!
Question What does self-confidence mean?
Answer A feeling of trust in your abilities, qualities, and judgement
Question Why is it important be have self- confidence?
Answer It gives you a good feeling about yourself and it helps you to believe you can achieve anything!
Question What helps your feel confident about yourself?
Answer Everything can! For example, doing well in a test, doing a good deed or helping a friend.
Activity! Turn to the person next to you and tell them one thing that will help them feel confident about themselves!
Question How else can we build our confidence?
Assembly Challenge! Compliment two people by the end of today help each other build self-confidence!
Assembly Review Its good to be different, and we should celebrate differences! Pupils can be bullied for lots of different reasons, always tell someone if you have a problem It s Your Voice!
