1Th 5:11-23 BUILD UP IN ONE ACCORD
Introduction & Annual theme is Pray and self-examine & Build up in one accord. Today, the second half, to buildup in one accord.
1Th 5:11-23 Therefore comfort one another, and edify one another, even as you also do. (12) And, brothers, we beseech you to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and who admonish you, (13) and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves. (14) Now we exhort you, brothers, warn those who are unruly, comfort the faint-hearted, support the weak, be patient toward all. (15) See that none gives evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue the good, both towards one another and towards all. (16) Rejoice evermore. (17) Pray without ceasing. (18) In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (19) Do not quench the Spirit. (20) Do not despise prophesying. (21) Prove all things, hold fast to the good. (22) Abstain from every appearance of evil. (23) And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blamelessly at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
First to Comfort One Another () To be a Christian, to be a follower of Christ is difficult. The path to the Kingdom of God is narrow, but not lonely Christ has straightened the path We edify one another to walk the straight and narrow path
Edify - One Another () - 1 To appreciate and honor all who serve and be at peace ( ) Appreciate all those who serve with respect and peace, and they will be so encouraged edified built up! To practice discipline ( ) To warn is also to edify, especially it is for the purpose of edify, to build up, not tear down. Do so with patience, and that is love. For love is patient, it is kind. To care for one another ( ) comfort the faint-hearted, support the weak, be patient toward all. Make each other your personal edifying ministry!
Edify - One Another () - 2 To pursue the good ( ) See that none gives evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue the good, both towards one another and towards all. To Love One Another as Christ Loves Us Rom 15:5-7 Now may God, the source of endurance and encouragement, allow you to live in harmony with each other as you follow the Messiah Jesus, (6) so that with one mind and one voice you might glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. (7) Therefore, accept (receive, welcome) one another, just as the Messiah accepted you, for the glory of God.(ISV) Christ is the source strength of endurance and encouragement When we accept, receive, welcome ( ) one another It loving one another that glorifies the Lord!
Conclusions To Edify is to: Appreciate and honor all who serve and be at peace ( ) Practice discipline ( ) Care for one another ( ) Pursue the good ( ) Grow spiritually ( ) Be sanctified ( ) Love one another as Christ loves us ( ) And Glory be to God
