Overview of the K12 SWP (1) The Kindergarten through Grade Twelve (K 12 SWP) is a joint effort between the California Community Colleges Chancellor s Office (CCCCO) and the California Department of Education (CDE) designed to:
Overview of the K12 SWP (2) Support intersegmental partnerships between Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and California community colleges to strengthen career technical education (CTE) programs and pathways aligned with regional workforce needs. Support LEAs in developing and implementing high-quality, Kindergarten through Grade Fourteen (K 14) CTE course sequences, programs, and pathways.
Key Elements of CTE Programs or Pathways 1. Leverage CTE efforts including CTEIG, the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21stCentury Act (Perkins V), and the Strong Workforce Program 2. Foster collaborative partnerships between K 12 and California Community Colleges (CCCs) 3. Align to regional priorities and opportunities 4. Offer pathways with high-quality CTE curriculum and instruction

K12 SWP Support 8 K 12 Technical Assistance Providers (K 12 TAPs) Provide regional leadership in the development, administration, and organization of Pathway Improvement initiatives 72 K 12 Pathway Coordinators (K 12 PCs) Support, link, and align program development efforts funded by the CTEIG, the K 12 SWP and the Community College Strong Workforce Program investments
Pathway Coordinators 72 coordinators: one per Community College district 11 CTEIG coordinators will be transitioned into this role, 61 will be new hires Timeline for hiring: Dec 20th- Applications for host LEA s available online Dec 20th- Job description released with applications Jan 31st- Deadline to identify host LEA s Feb 25th- Fiscal Agent to execute contracts with Host LEA April 20th- Host LEAs to have hired Pathway coordinators and communicate that to regional consortium June- Onboarding and Training for Pathway Coordinators and K 14 TAPs
K14 Technical Assistance Providers 8 Total: One per region Current Status: 1- complete 4- pending CO approval expected before the end of January 3- pending submission from the field K 14 will participate in the Onboarding and training scheduled for June.
