Frequently Asked Questions (2) Q: Do parents have parental choice between Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and full-day CSPP? A: YES! Parents can choose to enroll their child in TK or not - it is up to the parent. If the child is TK age eligible but is NOT ENROLLED in TK, the child can receive full-day CSPP services. Only when the child IS ENROLLED in TK that the child is limited to part-day CSPP for extended learning and care. 4
Frequently Asked Questions (3) Q: What documentation is needed to prove eligibility when a child is enrolled under the "means-tested government program" eligibility? A: Families will need to provide documentation of CURRENT certification in the means-tested government program. Depending on the program the family member is certified for the documentation may change it could be a printout of benefits, something equivalent to the Notice of Action we use for CSPP, or current medical card/enrollment paperwork (for Medi-Cal), etc. 5
Frequently Asked Questions (4) Q: If a family is enrolled under the "means-tested government program" eligibility, does the contractor report their income as zero? A: No. Families must provide documentation of the income declared on the application for the means-tested government program as it will be used for prioritizing enrollment and calculating family fees. If the application for the means-tested government program is not be available to the family, the family must self-certify: That they do not have access to the application The income that was declared on the application for the means- tested government program, to the best of their recollection. 6
Frequently Asked Questions (5) Q: For families in full-day CSPP enrolling with no need what hours can be authorized, and how are the hours determined? A: Children enrolled in full-day CSPP with no established need ("No Need" & CSPP Neighborhood School Eligibility) may be enrolled for no more than 10 hours per day and five days per week. This information can be found in Title 5 Section 17754. Contractors will determine the hours the family is certified for based on the parent's request of hours needed. 7
