1 Tim 2:4-6 Paul tells Timothy... God s desire is for All men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.... Rom 10:13 Paul s letter Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. 14 How then can they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? 5 key questions- Bottom line = So someone needs to share the Good News for ALL to to be able call on GOD! 2
SoThe question today is....who has been sent? Who needs to be sent? Who must go and tell them? Who has the mandate?... And the standard answer in most churches will be The Evangelism Team right?....In God s grand plan that there is An Evangelism Team Now There is good reason for this belief . There are number of Myths that surround Evangelism 3
Myths about Evangelism Evangelism is for a few die hard Christians....so not all are called to that ministry The reason being......Evangelism is all about getting out on the streets passing out tracks ....., hospital visits....prison visit and the like.... So Its for the brave hearts, the shameless, and those with the right personality I need to know more of the Bible to be able to share with others to get them saved...... Well... Almost all people in Ghana go to church anyway.... especially on a Sundays......they are all must be saved...... right? Most people around me are good people.... so sharing the Gospel is not critical or essential.....good people are counted as saved right?? 4
All of this ....is what brings Me here today? Many of you prophets are guessing already! We know why he is here!! OK so ..Let s start with ....What I am not here to do!! .... I am not here to recruit individuals for the team .. I am not .. so no papers will be passed around to gather a lists of hopefuls So you don t hide! However, I am here to recruit All of you to the harvest feild! All of YOU!......FGBMFI MEMBERS! I am here to engineer a movement for souls! I am here to remind you of your key position in the kingdom and the responsibility attached to that position 5
2 Cor 5: 18-21 ..God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20We are therefore Christ s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. So all have been called . Acts 1:8:.. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. A witness just testifies of what they have seen and heard .what they have experienced...Right?? to share what The Lord Has done for you...your family ?? Tell them! Surely you can do that?? You don t have to know all of the bible And guess what....dear Ambasador and witness you have no jurisdiction......Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria all the world! 6
So we have all been called to be ambassadors We have all been give the ministry of reconciliation We have all been empowered by the Holy Spirit to be a witness And We all have a story or stories to tell And we have a Marvelous Fellowship/ Chapter with excellent leaders and members to bring people to .. So tell me .what is going on? Jesus said in Matt 9: 7
Matt 9: 37 The harvest truly is plentiful (Ripe), but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Today Jesus is saying to His disciples in FGBMFI .there are plenty people out there seeking me,...... who are ready to receive me, who need to know that I have paid the Price for their sins! That My Grace is sufficient for them..... And He is saying to us ....but so many of us have ignored the cries of these people...., we have downed our tools during this harvest time, and left the work to a few people.... So we need to pray....for ourselves to get working 8
So today ..I am not looking for new individual team membersfor the evangelism team I am here to implore you...to beg you Christ's ambassadors to get back to our stations, ... to pray that Christ witnesses in FGBMFI be stirred up afresh and share their stories ,,their testimonies with the world not just in the chapter or in church! Today is all about evangelism .reminding you to tell a neighbor about what The Lord is doing in your life....and invite someone to the chapter or to church.... Salvation Cries out all around us! Let s create a movement in FGBMFI for the Salvation of Souls! 9
Lets Prayer Jesus said the harvest is ripe... Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Dear Lord and saviour, you who came to seek and save the lost.. you have called us to be ambassadors, you ve asked us to GO into all the world...and you have empowered us to be your witnesses... Lord....forgive us for being complacent....however....today we commit to rising up in faith to become workers in your harvest field of souls....use us for your glory...grant us boldness to demonstrate your love and declare you goodness in this land. Let us be aware and sensitive to the cries for salvation all around us. And as we reach out give us a harvest of souls for our labour. For your Word says ....... he who wins soulsis wise. I pray in Jesus Name....Amen 10
