  2. Canadas defining decade was the 1920s In the early 1920s Canada wasn t in its best state, it just got out of war and everyone was thinking thinking things where Going to get worse. But our supply of natural resources, our exports and trading gave our economy the push it needed to make the twenties a decade to be remembered

The 1920s economy The twenties marked the emergence of modern Canadian economy Canada has a large geography and a small population the Canadian economy will be shaped by resources and the need for it to sell its goods internationally There was a great expansion of the wheat economy witch was called the Laurier boom witch was a rapid expansion of agriculture production and exports that inter helped fuel the overall Canadian economy Canada s business and economic trends followed those of the us

  4. Hundreds of farmers bought and sold wheat crops and with their profits they where able to buy more machinery, livestock and farming goods that increased Canada s economy making shear their largest export

The 1920s socially 1920s years of contrast, conflict and change New inventions, new forms of entertainment, challenged old values and led to often defiant and bold attitudes and out looks Radios broadcast up to date music, fashion and cultural trends Jazz night clubs where in all major cities (Montreal) Flappers where fashionable young women that went against the old conversions of proper feminine behaviour, they scandalized the public by throwing away Victorian clothing

  6. The 1920s politically In the 1920s Canada began to see it self as independent from Britain. William Lyon Mackenzie King was dominant Canadian political leader in the twenties, he served as the 10th prime minister of Canada. 1926 conservatives accuse liberals and Mackenzie King of taking bribes from rum runners who where smuggling alcohol into the United States

  7. Prohibition Gangsters and bootleggers where a huge problem for the government. Gangsters made huge profit from bootlegging Alcohol because it was highly desirable

  8. In conclusion The twenties where a time for prospetary for most and fast growth in industry, manufacturing and the cities.
