  1. What are What are Career Action Teams? Career Action Teams?

  2. Small groups of 1stand 2ndyear MBA students who are seeking an internship or full-time job.

  3. Teams will provide a structured forum for: strategic, personalized career advice related to your areas of interest Sharing targeted internship and job search leads and referrals discussing best practices in changing careers, networking, outreach, follow-up and interviewing strategies.

  4. Career Action Teams are based on a highly successful model used by top business schools in the country.

  5. Why career action teams? Why career action teams?

  6. Teams will enhance sharing of job leads, alumni contact information and sources of information to expedite the job search process.

  7. Group interaction and sharing of strategies and ideas will help accelerate the performance of all group members. Accountability and motivation are known benefits of facilitated small groups. Teams will also enable performance tracking for the CMC to better understand where students are in the search process and provide additional one-on-one support when needed.

  9. Full-time MBA students seeking internships or full-time jobs will opt in to the pilot program.

  10. approximately 8 teams 5-6 members organized by specialization (bucket). + a trained CMC facilitator, at least one SCA, and one or two alumni members.

  11. Teams will meet every other week for one hour Meetings will follow a set agenda to ensure equal time is allotted for each student and key areas of concern are addressed. At the end of the meeting, each student will have a set of clear goals and action items to follow-up on and report on during the next meeting.

  12. Agenda Introductions/Team Member Updates - 15 minutes Job lead exchange Announcements Content (from pre-determined list) Next steps - 45 minutes

  13. You will provide a concise update on your weekly search activities and are expected to raise any specific questions to get feedback on. Topics will address strategies for things like: career changers, target company research, leveraging connections inside target companies, face time with alumni who will be Zoomed or Skyped in, specific on- line resources, best practices in online job applications, interview preparation and salary negotiation.

  14. You commit to: Attend every meeting. If unable to attend, you are expected to call or email your report to someone on the team to report on your behalf. Arrive on time and ready to participate. Actively listen and respect each member during the meeting Support and help team members Provide a verbal and written Final Report upon accepting a job/internship
