CFM DELIVERY OPTIONS in NEW YORK CFM is a one-half unit course required for all students in approved CTE programs CFM must be delivered by a certified CTE teacher CFM can be used as part of the 216 hours for CDOS Graduation Pathway or Commencement Credential DELIVERY OPTIONS Can be offered at any high school grade level Can be offered as a standalone course Can be offered as an integrated course within other career pathway courses. If integrated, all modules must be identified. In Grade 8 for high school credit (after 1-3/4 CTE) www.councilforeconed.org 8

SOME STARTLING STATISTICS Here s what employers say they least want to see in candidate social profiles: 83% of employers say they are turned off by references about using illegal drugs. 71% are turned off by posts of a sexual nature. 65% are turned off by use of profanity. 61% are turned off by bad spelling or grammar. 51% are turned off by references to guns, and 47% are turned off by photos of consuming alcohol. SAMPLE ACTIVITIES Invite former students/friends/relatives who are in technology to speak, highlighting how technology is used for efficiency and productivity Working in small groups, have students identify an emerging technology and report on its potential influence on society.
