  2. Should I Major in Psychology? Step 1: What kinds of interests do you have and what jobs match those interests? Complete Assignment 1: http://capone.mtsu.edu/wlangsto/Assignment1.docx Visit the MTSU Careers Center: http://www.mtsu.edu/career/index.php#top If psychology comes up (or a career matching the training you get as a psychology major comes up), then you should major.

  3. What is Psychology? There are a number of sub-disciplines: Clinical psychology Counseling Experimental psychology Industrial/organizational psychology School psychology Quantitative psychology Information about these is on the web page. Choose the one that fits your interests.

  4. Check Your Work Once you ve picked your career, complete Assignment 2 (described on the web page). You should plan to complete these steps multiple times. It s more important to take time now and make several starts than it is to commit to something and be miserable for the rest of your life.

  5. Prepare, Prepare, Prepare Once you know what you want to do, you have to BECOME that person. Do you need to go to graduate school? Research graduate programs, find out who the ideal applicant is, make yourself into the ideal applicant. Do you want to start a career when you complete your undergraduate degree? Find out what employers in your area want and be that. This is where exploring the available resources becomes very important.
