Education Clinician-Teacher: Members with major clinical responsibilities who participate in teaching activities Time Distribution 50-70% clinical 15-25% teaching 5-25% research, administration Clinician-Educator: Major time commitment to teaching, educational administration, or education scholarship Time Distribution 30-40% clinical 15-25% teaching 30-50% education research or education administration
Scientists (Bench to Bedside to Policy (includes Quality) Clinician-Investigator: Members with major clinical responsibilities who participate in research activities Time Distribution 50-70% clinical 25-50% research 15-25% teaching, administration Clinician-Scientist (50- 75% research): Members who direct a research program Time Distribution 25-35% clinical 15-25% teaching; 50-75% research; 5-10% administration
Scientists (Bench to Bedside to Policy) Clinician-Scientist (>75%): Members whose major activity is research (regardless of the type of research). Time Distribution 75-80% research 5% teaching Scientist: Members whose major activity is research (regardless of the type of research). Time Distribution 75-80% research 10-20% teaching at least 20% clinical 0-5% administration 5-10% administration
