  5. We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us. - Jo Cox Jo Cox cared passionately about making a difference both to her local community in Yorkshire and the global community. She was an aid worker for 10 years, including working for Oxfam, and helped some of the world s poorest people. When she became an MP, she continued to work to improve the lives of people including Syrian refugees and people living with autism. She was killed by someone who did not agree with her views on inclusivity. Her words and actions inspired many people and after her death, the Jo Cox foundation was set up to continue her work. Every year they organise The Great Get Together to inspire people to hold events in their communities that bring people together to have fun.
