  1. Easter in Greece

  2. Easter is the greatest celebration in Greece. On Holy Thursday we dye red eggs and make tsourekia(a sweet bread)

  3. On Good Friday people go to church with flowers to decorate the epitaph.

  4. On Holy Saturday we go to church for the midnight service of resurrection. We carry candles.

  5. Children have special Easter candles decorated with toys and flowers brought by their godparents.

  6. After midnight we eat the traditional soup, tsoureki and red eggs.

  7. On Easter day we eat roasted lamb on a spit and we celebrate the resurrection of Christ .
