Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat A programme for celebrating India s Unity in Diversity Building awareness of India s diversity Appreciating creative achievements of our people through exchange Promoting excellence 2
Overview of the Programme Every State will host and visit 4-5 States group-wise, every year There will be 5 such Groups of States Grouping of States will change every year In 6 years, interaction among all States will be completed Celebrations Flagship Unity Week starting on 31st Oct, and Different Events spread over the year 3
Areas of Interaction Performing Arts - Music, Dance, Arts and Theatre Cuisines & Exhibitions Food festivals, Handlooms, Handicrafts Literature & Films - Literary meets, Film festival Youth Games and Sports, Debates, Essay Writing, Quiz Governance Sharing Best Practices in the fields of healthcare, education, sanitation, use of technology 4
Flagship Event - Unity Week Celebrated in simultaneously across the country Starting with 31st Oct (Unity Day) Focus on Performing Arts, Cuisines, Exhibitions, Films, etc. Celebrations in either State Capital or a major town all States 5
Events spread over the year These events will be in addition to Unity Week These events will also be in the same group of States for that year Theme based Interactions, every month Other Activities Exchange of students schools, colleges, universities Celebrate States major festivals Scholarships to pursue artistic and literary pursuits of other States 6
