Challenges in Brunei Energy Sector Based on Brunei Annual Report (2012) published by Wildcat Publishing in Southeast Asia Guillaume Doane & Jack Miller: The Challenges in the Brunei Energy Sector are; Systemic losses in oil and gas production 1. Shrinking, dwindling oil and gas reserves 2. Issues on dealing with energy efficiency and conservation 3. Environmental issue and protection of rainforests 4. On top of the above, Brunei needs to find additional oil and gas resources to continue its very ambitious economic goals as part of Wawasan 2035 5. Inadequate supply of local skilled workforce.
