  2. What is Retinitis Pigmentosa? Genetic disorder affecting the retina. RP is an umbrella term for various degenerative forms. Gradual loss of vision from early childhood to mid-adulthood Affects 1 in 3,500 ~ 4,000 people worldwide. No cure Can lead to server vision loss or complete blindness

  3. Typical Vision Symptoms Night blindness Peripheral vision loss (tunnel vision) Increased risk of tripping or falling. Can t see upcoming danger (cars/object) / social interactions (hand) Visual Acuity & Contrast sensitivity reduction 20/40 : low vision => difficulty reading 20/200 : legally blind => mobility issues 20/1600: ultra low vision => limited visual function Light perception Complete blindness Impaired Depth perception Difficulty Understanding speech Light/Dark Adaptation problems Color Vision Deficiency Medication with colors Increased Light Sensitivity Operatory Light at a dental clinic
