International Board on Standards of Competence for Hydrographic Surveyors and Nautical Cartographers STRUCTURE OF STANDARDS OF COMPETENCE The Standards are NOT a course or programme Modern pedagogical structure constructive alignment Content Learning Outcomes Theory/Practical/Self guided/ major project Test the Learning outcomes Tell us how you do it cover every element- cross reference the elements to the modules Previous versions grew almost depending on vested interests present at Board so many so-called options were created but are now mainstream competencies
