  8. Transportation cont. Weather Related Closing and Delays: If a student s home school is closed or delayed because of inclement weather and the Alternative School is open, the student follows the home schools closing or delay transportation schedule. The Alternative School will follow the Mac-A-Cheek Learning Center s decision regarding school closings and or delays for inclement weather. Therefore, if Mac-A-Cheek is closed or delayed and your home school is running as normal the student follows the Mac-A-Cheek cancellation or delay for the day. You can listen to WPKO- 98.3FM or check Peak of Ohio.com for Mac-A-Cheek closing/delays.

Ohio law requires the school to contact the parents in the event a student is absent and the parent has made no contact with the school. If the parent does not call the office the student must bring a written excuse to the office including dates of absence from home, a medical provider or the court upon their return to school within 48 hours or the absence will be considered unexcused. Students with repeated unexcused absences will be considered truant and the County Attendance Officer will be notified.
