  1. GY25 Importantchangesin adult education2025 On 1 July 2025, GY25 will be implemented within Komvux at upper secondary level. This means that subject grades will replace today's course grades and that courses are replaced by levels.

  2. This This is Subject levels and subject grades The biggest change with Gy25 is that the system is subject-based instead of course-based. You study different subject levels instead of individual subject courses. This means that: is what what Gy25 Gy25 means means As a student, you are given the opportunity to learn a subject over a longer period of time before your final grade is given. The grade at the highest level in the subject you have studied will be your final grade for the entire subject. An example of subject grade You study Swedish at levels 1, 2, and 3 and receive the following grades at each level: Swedish level1: D Swedish level2: D Swedish level 3: B Your final grade in the subject Swedish will be B, since the grade you receive at the highest level in the subject will be your final grade. On your school transcript, it will state: Swedish (300 points): Subject grade B.

  3. During the transition period, 1 July 2025 - 30 June 2030, you can get a school transcript that includes both course grades and subject grades. An example You have studied two courses in Swedish according to the old course grade system and one level in the new subject level system. This is what your school transcript would state: Course Swedish 1 (100 points): C Course Swedish 2 (100 points): D Subject level Swedish level 3 (100 points): B Your school transcript will then contain and display both course grades and level grades, but no final subject grade. Swedish 1, 100 points. Course grade: C Swedish 2, 100 points. Course grade: D Swedish level3, 100 points. Levelgrade: B Mixed Mixed grades grades

  4. Examples of how course grades and subject Examples of how course grades and subject grades can be included in a grades can be included in a school transcript school transcript Here are three examples of how course grades and subject grades can be included in a school transcript after 1 July 2025. 1. Josef only has grades incourses and 2. Walter only has grades insubject levels. 3. Katarina, on the other hand, has studied both courses and subject levels in the same subject. Example 1 Josef has a course grade in Swedish as a second language 1-3. Then all course grades are included in the school transcript.

  5. Example 2 Example 2 Walterhas a subject grade in Swedish as a second language in levels1, 2 and 3. In this case, only subject gradefrom level 3 isincluded in the school transcript.

  6. Example 3 Katarina has course gradesin Swedish as a second language 1 and 2 and a subject grade in Swedish as a second language level 3. In this case, both the course grades in courses 1 and 2 and the subject grade for level 3 are included in the school transcript.

  7. Most of the new subject levels correspond to previous courses so they will continue to be calculated in the same way when applying for higher education. For example: Course English 5 (Gy11) corresponds to subject level English level 1 (Gy25) Course Natural Science 2 (Gy11) corresponds to subject level Natural Science Level 2 (Gy25) Credit increments (meritpo ng)will be calculated in the same way as before: by multiplying the value of the grade by the number of points for the subject level and then divided by the total number of points for the program. Entry Entry and rating requirements requirements and merit merit rating
