  5. CAN YOU SAY WHAT IS INTERROGATIVE? An interrogative sentence is a sentence that asks a question. The term is used in grammar to refer to features that form questions. Thus, an interrogative sentence is a sentence whose grammatical form shows that it is a question. Such sentences may exhibit an interrogative grammatical mood.

  6. Try to change the sentence into Assertive Interrogative Is he in the school? Assertive- He is in the school. Or, He is not in the school. If there is to be verb/any auxiliary verb before the subject in the Interrogative, that auxiliary should used after the subject to change it into Interrogative (Changing meaning) ** Auxiliary+not for without changing meaning

  7. Try to change the sentence into Assertive Interrogative Isn t he in the school? Assertive He is not in the school. Or, He is in the school. If there is to be verb/any auxiliary verb+not before the Subject in the Interrogative, that auxiliary+not should used after the subject to change it into Assertive (Changing meaning) ** Skip not for without changing meaning

If there is Do/Did/Does before the subject in the Interrogative, do/did/does should be eliminated to change it into Assertive (Changing meaning) ** Sub+do/did/does+not for without changing meaning

Interrogative Shall I go to Dhaka tomorrow? Assertive I shan t go to Dhaka tomorrow? 3. Interrogative Doesn t she like ice-cream? Assertive she likes ice-cream?

  10. Try to change the sentence into Assertive without changing meaning. Interrogative - Do you ever play football? Assertive - You never play football. If there is ever in the Question, never should be used instead of ever and auxiliary verb should be used after the subject.
