Character Education
Character education is an umbrella term that incorporates various approaches aimed at positively influencing the character of young people. It is not merely a system added to schools or a single set of lessons. Instead, it focuses on developing both the heart and the mind, fostering intrinsic values rather than relying solely on extrinsic systems. To nurture good character, educators must embody the principles they wish to instill in their students, promoting resilience, confidence, and a sense of community.

Character Education is not: Just another system to be added to the school A single set of lessons to teach someone how to be of good character
Legacy Colours is an example of embedding these building blocks of character
Intrinsic not Extrinsic It isn t enough to put these systems in and expect the students to follow and conform We have to be the characters that we want them to become
