  1. Chemistry Paper 2 Gap Filling Topics I need to work on: Marks: Grade: Marks for next grade:

  2. Precision of Terminology Measuring cylinder Gas syringe High temperature not heat Only iron rusts - everything else corrodes

  3. Corrosion Water and oxygen (from air) are needed. Preventing corrosion: - Paint - Stainless steel resists corrosion - Aluminium is reactive ( is in Gp3) but it form a coherent oxide layer which prevents further oxidation - Iron is less reactive but the rust (oxide) layer is not coherant so corrosion continues

  4. Volume to moles 24dm3 of any gas is 1 mole. Limiting reactant calculation process: 1. Work out how many moles of each substance you have 2. Compare to ratio given by balancing numbers. 3. Work out which will run out first.

  5. Calculating rates Rate = gradient At a specific time = tangent Mean between 2 times = straight line gradient between the 2 specified times.

  6. C2H Score C2H Grade 0 0 4 5 6 7 8 9 25 35 45 55 64 73
