  1. Chesapeake Bay Program Diversity Workgroup Announcements November 2022

  2. DWG Updates The Diversity Workgroup held its members meeting in September and is planning a second on November 18, 2022. The recent meeting reviewed early analysis of the Diversity indicator survey results, discussing the context for interpreting the results as well as how to utilize them to help chart a path for future actions. The next meeting will focus on funding resources including an update on the GIT-funded project underway to address equity in grantmaking. The Diversity Workgroup is still seeking and additional co-chair. Nominations, self-nominations, statements of interest or requests for more information should be directed to the Diversity Workgroup Coordinator, Briana Yancy at yancy.briana@epa.gov. The Diversity Workgroup steering committee worked with the communications team to launch a new CBP webpage on environmental justice Applications have closed for our stewardship GIT staffer and interviews will begin soon!

Native American Heritage Month November is Native American Heritage Month, The month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people. Heritage Month is also an opportune time to educate the general public about tribes, to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges Native people have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges. Job Opening in the Baltimore Office of Sustainability Position Title: Climate and Resilience Program Manager (City Planner Supervisor) Salary Range: $80,743.00 $129,075.00 Description: The Baltimore City Office of Sustainability is recruiting for a Climate and Resilience Program Manager (CRPM). We are looking for a passionate leader to help catalyze climate actions across Baltimore. The CRPM will oversee the implementation of the citywide Climate Action Plan (CAP), the city s pathway to carbon neutrality, hazard mitigation planning, advance and track actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, climate mitigation and climate adaptation approaches. This role will also lead, advise and support climate-focused working groups (covering such topics as: buildings, climate, heat, flooding/infrastructure transportation and waste) under the administration s Sustainability & Resiliency Subcabinet. The CRPM will execute strategies to further energy conservation efforts, renewable energy adoption and advance access to environmental amenities for climate vulnerable communities in collaborations with city agency staff.   6. Restoration Program Officer The Chesapeake Bay Trust (the Trust) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as a Program Officer in the Restoration Department. The Program Officer is responsible for leading two to three of the Trust s restoration programs focusing on water quality and habitat, supporting administration of new related award programs as they are developed, and supporting implementation of the Trust s restoration initiatives. Program Coordinator The Chesapeake Bay Trust (the Trust) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as Program Coordinator to support the work in the Restoration Department. The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Prince George s Rain Check Rebate program and the Prince George s Stormwater Stewardship Grant Program. These programs represent work under our partnership with Prince George s County Department of the Environment. This person will be a key member of a twenty-four person staff. Program Assistant The Chesapeake Bay Trust (the Trust) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as Program Assistant. The person in this position will assist the Trust with the review, management, and tracking of grants and other awards for projects in the fields of urban tree planting, other watershed/community restoration projects, and natural resources-related community engagement. This person will be a key member of a 20+ person staff. This position is a full-time, salaried position (40 hours per week) that requires periodic evening and weekend work.
