2 2 IMPROVE QUALITY IN HEALTH CARE One reason for PHA was to improve Quality in Health Care. We must establish Technical Working Groups (TWGs) to integrate Clinical with Public Health Programs. These include: Disease Control -Physician Chair Child Health -Paediatrician Chair Maternal Health -Obstetrician Chair Health Promotions WASCOM etc Our aim: - Improve Quality of Clinical and Public Health Services 3/18/2025
2 2 LEADERSHIP - SMO /CONSULTANT 1. SMOs are the most highly qualified Health and Medical Personnel in the PHAs. 2.They provide Technical Guide and direction for both Curative and Public Health Services in the province. 3. By Qualification, SMOs are the Technical Leaders of the Health Service Programs be it: Medicine & Disease Control :Obstetrics/Gynae & Maternal Health :Paediatrics & Child Health 3/18/2025
2 2 FUNCTIONS OF CHILD HEALTH TWGs i) Oversee Child Health Program ii) Oversee Immunization Program iii) Oversee Nutrition Program iv) Oversee IMCI Program v) Oversee Paediatric Referral Services vi) Oversee Continuum of Care Services vii)Oversee Child Health Drugs & Equipment viii)Others as directed by SEM Paediatrician is the Chair to ensure provides overrall Direction & Quality 3/18/2025
