  2. UN Convention on the Rights of the Child The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted in 1989. The aim of the Convention is to guarantee the rights of everyone under the age of 18 years in the world. The Convention entered into force in Finland in 1991 and its implementation is supervised by the Ombudsman for Children.
