First Article: Creation I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth God has made me and all creatures Creation as home for God s beloved children. State/church/home as structures instituted by God. Human beings as crown of creation, made in his image.
Second Article: Redemption Sin separates God s children from him. and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord who has redeemed me, a lost and condemned person 1 John 2:2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. Salvation by grace, through faith.
Third Article: Sanctification In this Christian church He daily and richly forgives all my sins and the sins of all believers Means of grace: Word, Baptism, Lord s Supper, Absolution Holy Spirit lives within Christians, pointing them to Christ.
Vocation God works through people to extend his love. Outward focus: free to serve neighbor.
