The civil registration process in Tanzania is governed by specific laws related to births, deaths, marriages, and divorces. It is a centralized system conducted at the Ward level, with different procedures for births in health facilities, home births, facility-based deaths, deaths at home, marriages, and divorces. Tanzania is currently finalizing a Comprehensive Assessment of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) to improve the registration process.
