  1. CivilApps Applications for Civil Engineers (with special focus on Rural Roads Sector) Y.Narasimha Rao, B.E. (Hons) [Civil], M.Tech [Computer Science] Project Advisor, APRRP (PMC), PR, Govt. of AP & Superintending Engineer (Retd), PR, GoAP

  2. Necessity Generally PWD organizations do not have in-house productivity applications for field engineers, quality monitors, and contractors Mostly PWDs use applications mandated by Government for administrative purposes like obtaining physical & financial status of various programs etc. With the substantial increase in volume of government infrastructure programs, field engineers are not finding quality time for design, estimate, execution of works, recording, preparation of bills, and other documentation related tasks

  3. About CivilApps Several useful resources are generated/sourced and being aggregated on CivilApps platform (https://www.civilapps.in) . These include: Applications Commonly used Codes & Technical Publications (many of them with hyperlinks/annotations for easy access and clarifications) Relevant GOs/Circulars on various programs (ex: MGNREGS) Technical Presentations/Notes on various Topics Videos Inhouse/YouTube, that are short, relevant, and clear on quality control tests etc. Accessible on Desktop/Laptop/Mobile/Tablet Conducting Regular Trainings to Field Engineers/Quality Monitors in Physical mode & Video Conference mode. Short Quizes in MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) conducted post-training to assess the performance of participants

  4. Applications Excel (VBA) based applications available in open domain. No internet required. Once downloaded, app can be used any number of times Web applications for individual users (field engineers, quality monitors, and contractors) Organizational applications for organization-wide use Code Snippets Short apps for use in the field to get specific piece of information Applications ensure : For Field Functionaries (with vastly different levels of technical knowledge & practical experience) - Certain degree of uniformity in the documentation work among field functionaries For Administrative Authorities Increased level of confidence for approval of designs, estimates, bills etc being submitted by field engineers

  5. Excel Applications (With Demo Videos/Presentations) Design of Flexible Pavement for low-volume roads as per IRC-SP-72 (2015) Design of CC Pavement for low-volume roads as per IRC-SP-62 (2014) Design of Small Culverts & Bridges as per IRC-SP-13 (2022) Design of Horizontal Curves Concrete Mix Design as per IS 10262 Classification of Soils as per IS 1498 Testing of Concrete & Acceptance Criteria Blending of Aggregates Progress Report Template

  6. Web Applications (for individual users) Roadex Mobile offline accessible compendium of comprehensive data on concepts, geometric design standards, quality requirements (for various layers), quality tests (in the process), etc as a field ready-reckoner for various stake holders from relevant codes, technical publications, circulars etc qBank Testing Application for quality monitors (SQMs/NQMs) on technical aspects (with associated support WhatsApp group Proficiency Test )

  7. Organizational Applications QMS (Quality Monitoring System) closely modelled on QMS app of NIRDA Mobile & Offline accessible RoadNet Road Database to define & capture road database, that is Mobile & Offline accessible Currently under testing in Duggirala Mandal of Guntur District mProcure App for managing material procurement (cement/steel etc) to track requirement, indents, supply, and payment status to vendors etc

  8. Demo of Some of the Resources Applications Web App - Roadex (Mobile Interface) Excel App - Design of Flexible Pavement /Progress Report Code Snippet Horizontal Curve Design Presentations Unified Soil Classification System Technical Publications Quality Control Hand Book (PMGSY) on QC Tests Training Programs/Inspections

  9. Improvement of Quality leads to better performance and durability of assets created, which in turn results in substantial cost savings to the Nation
