  4. Fixed Units & Operative Surfaces Class of 2018 Restorative averages: 2350 fixed units Average of 14.4 high of 40 27,658 operative surfaces Average of 170 high of 409

  5. Direct Restorative Expectations Class of 2019 Direct: minimum of 40 restorative restorations before beginning 3rdyear competencies Direct: by end of 3rdyear complete a minimum of 70 direct restorative experiences (restorations) & pass 3 direct competencies 1 of which must be a direct Mock WREB

  6. Indirect Restorative Expectations Class of 2019 Indirect: 4 completed indirect restorative experiences (teeth) before beginning 3rdyear competencies (except for Mock Sim Board) Indirect: by end of 3rdyear, complete minimum of 14 indirect experiences, including passing 3 indirect competencies 1 of which must be a Mock Sim Board

  7. Indirect Competencies Class of 2019 2 sets of indirect competencies: Each requires Prep/Temp, Impression, CIMOE from start to finish on same patient. Graded by calibrated faculty.

  8. Removable Graduation Prosthodontics Expectations By graduation, students must demonstrate that they can treat an edentulous or partially edentulous patient with removable prostheses and prepare appropriate laboratory prescriptions.

  10. 5 Removable Experiences 2 cases must have both arches completely edentulous (in other words, 2 F/F cases). 2 cases must include fabrication of at least one partial denture. At least 1 experience must include a post surgical delivery of a removable prostheses (immediate).

  11. Removable Competency Competencies should start as soon as a student has completed a F/F or F/Partial in the clinic as 3rdyear DDS or 2ndyear IDS. Competency must be done on one of student s assigned patients from start to finish with calibrated removable/prosthodontic faculty only.

  12. Competency Has 4 Parts Diagnosis, Preliminary, and Final Impressions Jaw relations (midline/lip line, vertical dimension, and centric relation determination record) Wax Try-in (remount if necessary, patient esthetic acceptance, phonetics) Delivery (and follow up appointments established)
