Officers at the Club Level What are the different elected positions at the club level? President, Vice President(s), Secretary, Treasurer, Editor CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education
Club President Duties: Serve as the club s chief executive officer Preside over club meetings and activities Assist and communicate with members and fellow officers Represent the club at Division Council Meetings, training conferences, and Kiwanis meetings, etc. Provide and promote service projects for the members Set feasible goals for the year Recruit members into Key Club Conduct elections for the next year and train the president-elect The President represents the club, plans the term, delegates tasks, etc. CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education
Club Vice President(s) *May have more than one Vice President, with different areas of foci Duties: Preside over meetings in the absence of the President Be familiar with the roles of the all officers be ready to help them Assist the president in all ways possible Attend Division Council Meetings, all club and board meetings Have extensive knowledge about Key Club to educate the members Take initiative to lead, serve, and represent Train the next vice president for the next term The Vice President(s) support the members, aid the President, take initiative, etc. - Note: Too many Vice Presidents may hinder progress & leadership CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education
Club Secretary Duties: Keep organized records and paperwork for the club Record member attendance at meetings Maintain accurate meeting minutes for club and board meetings Work with the treasurer to compile and update the club roster Submit a Monthly Report Form (MRF) to the Lt. Governor, Faculty Advisor, Region advisor, and Kiwanis advisor each month on time Record the service hours performed by the members Training the secretary-elect on the roles of a secretary The Secretary records service, fundraising, minutes, etc., aids the Treasurer with the club roster, etc. CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education
Club Treasurer Duties: Maintain accurate financial records of deposits/expenses Collect and send dues to the International Office Update club information on the Membership Center with the Secretary Communicate with school administration for deposits and checks Prepare a club budget for board approval Share with the Sponsoring Kiwanis Club if possible Keep track of all receipts for reimbursements and payments Have a faculty advisor oversee all handling of monies Organize fundraisers for the club and charities Train and pass on financial records to the next treasurer The Treasurer prepares/maintains a budget, records transactions, etc. CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education
Club Editor *Example Editors: Bulletin/News Editor, Tech Editor Duties: Be familiar with Key Club Graphic Standards Create a monthly newsletter to provide the club with information Take pictures at club events and meetings Submit articles and visuals for the district newsletter Publicize the club through fliers, posters, and other media Follow appropriate guidelines for promotion on social networks Update and maintain a club website Notify members of upcoming events Train the editor-elect on graphic standards and network etiquette CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education
Running for Office BEE a paid member of your Key Club. Ask officers about the position and learn about it. Officers at the Division Level What are the different positions at the club level? Elected: Lieutenant Governor Appointed by Lt. Governor: Executive Assistant(s), Division News Editor The LTG may appoint addition positions as see fit: Tech Editor, Member Recognition Coordinator, Membership, Education Development Coordinator, Kiwanis Family Coordinator, Service Projects Coordinator, Spirit Coordinators *Each division has its own appointment process CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education
Lt. Governor Duties: Send in monthly reports on the 10thof each month and publications on the 20thof each month Host at least 10 Division Council Meetings Publish at least 10 newsletters to the district Serve and communicate with the clubs in the division, promoting membership growth Make 2 club visitations to each club Hold Officer Training Conference, Region Training Conference, and Conclave during the term Complete assigned district committee work Attend all board meetings and District Conventions Work with the region team and region advisor(s) The Lt. Executive Assistant(s) *EA s are usually rising sophomores and juniors. There is one per every 5 clubs in a division. Duties: Attend Division Council Meetings and Division Leadership Team Meetings Help Lt. Governor with a variety of tasks BEE a paid member in good standing The Executive Assistant(s) is delegated tasks from the Lt. Governor. Division News Editor Duties: Create and publish monthly division newsletters Send in articles and visuals to the CNH Archive Take pictures at divisional events Communicate with Lt. Other Possible Positions *Each division offers different positions in its division. Examples: Fundraising Member Recognition Membership, Education, Development Pediatric Trauma Program Spirit Coordinators Service Projects Coordinators Tech Editor These positions along with their duties are decided upon by the Lt.
