  1. STANDARDS APPLICATION FORM 2024-2025

  2. The Club Standards award recognises the quality of which a Sports Club has been run over the past academic year. Sports Clubs will be awarded these standards awards at the annual Sports Award's ceremony. These are a great way to show the hard work the committees have put into their club's and stand out on graduate s CVs. Sports Clubs can achieve either a Bronze, Silver, or Gold standards award. Depending on which standard the club achieves, the relevant badge will be displayed on your webpage. STANDARDS APPLICATION FORM 2024-2025

  3. The Standards Award is broken down into 8 sections for Non-BUCS clubs and 9 sections for BUCS clubs. You can achieve a bronze, silver, or gold in each section, granting the following points: Each Bronze Section is worth 100 points Each Silver Section is worth 200 points Each Gold Section is worth 300 points You can only earn one level per criteria, e.g., if you have earned Silver for the volunteering criteria, you will earn 200 points. You would not then also earn the 100 points for Bronze. To achieve Bronze in any section you must fulfil ALL the corresponding Bronze criteria for that section. To achieve Silver in any section you must fulfil ALL the corresponding Bronze and Silver criteria. To achieve Gold in any section, you must fulfil ALL the corresponding Bronze, Silver, and Gold criteria. You can only earn one level of points per section, either 0, 100, 200, or 300 points.   4. The clubs overall standard will be determined by the accumulated number of points that have been obtained throughout the sections. The overall standard criteria can be seen below. SECTION 3 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERING LOG (TO LOG ON GRADINTEL) Standard Criteria Submission/proof Bronze 25% of the Clubs executive committee to have each created a volunteering profile on Grad Intel and logged 5 hours of any work done as execs (E.g. Attending meetings, attending GMs, event planning, fundraising etc.) Attach folder/screenshots on the following slides containing all execs downloaded hours from GradIntel of Volunteer record (available from logging into your Volunteering profile and following the My Skills Record button). Silver 50% of the Clubs executive committee to have each created a volunteering profile on Grad Intel and logged 10 hours of any work completed as execs (E.g. Attending meetings, attending GMs, event planning, fundraising etc.) STANDARDS APPLICATION FORM 2024-2025 Gold 75% of the Clubs executive committee to have each created a volunteering profile on Grad Intel and logged 10 hours of any work done as execs (E.g.   11. Section 4 Funds Raised This can include funds raised for your own club as well as for an external charity, it can include membership funds (but only 50% of these can be included*) - Please state this quantity in the boxes below.   14. ORGANISATION CRITERIA (Bronze Section) Action required Completed (YES/NO) Standard Bronze All compulsory documents signed on Moodle. Social Media Charter Alcohol Policy Code of Conduct Constitution Inventory Risk Assessment Declaration of Financial Responsibility www.essexstudent.com club page up to date (blurb, training/meeting times, contact information). STANDARDS APPLICATION FORM 2024-2025 Compliance with the Essex Blades Federation Code of Conduct and Terms of Reference. Committee attendance at all compulsory SU Student Activities training sessions, and to have completed the Moodle assessments associated with each training session. (Core Officer, Finance, Welfare, Events, Social Media and Comms, Captains).

ORGANISATION CRITERIA (Silver Section) Action required Completed (YES/NO) Standard Silver Plan of terms events, come and try s/trial events etc uploaded to Student Activities what s on page - https://www.essexstudent.com/activities/whatson/ One club representative at all Essex Blades General Meetings. Club funds maintained at a healthy balance. STANDARDS APPLICATION FORM 2024-2025 Club not found guilty of any disciplinary offences.

  16. ORGANISATION CRITERIA (Gold Section) Action required Completed (YES/NO) Standard Gold At least two club representatives at all Essex Blades General Meetings. Before club elections, the current committee must hold a session to promote and brief all club members on the roles available and responsibilities for each role. ENGAGEMENT CRITERIA (Bronze Section) Action required Completed (YES/NO), please provide information Standard Bronze Have an active social media account (posted at least once every three weeks on average). Hosted a welcome event for club members. STANDARDS APPLICATION FORM 2024-2025 Hosted at least 1 activity/social per month.

  18. ENGAGEMENT CRITERIA (Silver Section) Action required Completed (YES/NO), please provide information Standard Silver Attend Fresher's Fair and hosted a stall. Work on a project/event collaborating with another club OR society. STANDARDS APPLICATION FORM 2024-2025 Have an active social media account at least one post every two weeks (on average).

  19. ENGAGEMENT CRITERIA (Gold Section) Action required Completed (YES/NO), please provide information Standard Gold Actively engage with students in one of the communities (Asian Network, Black Network, International Students Association, LGBTQ+ Networks, Mature Students, PGR & PGT Students, Student Parents & Carers, Students with Disabilities, Female Students). Have an active social media account at least one post a week (on average). STANDARDS APPLICATION FORM 2024-2025 Collaborate once with Rebel (Student's Union Media team, not the basketball/volleyball teams): This can be writing an article, hosting a radio show or creating video content. If you plan to do something after the standards deadline (i.e. for Derby Day this can be included.). For use of Blades staff only.   20. Section 9 BUCS BUCS UK Top 25 is a University strategic priority and therefore we require each BUCS Sport to work towards achieving targets for each year. STANDARD Required Numbers Bronze Please provide evidence below. 50% of teams achieved target Silver All teams achieved target. STANDARDS APPLICATION FORM 2024-2025 Gold Exceeded BUCS points target by 10% For this, we classify BUCS Clubs as those that participate in league and/or knockout competitions. BUCS one off events will not count. Please see the next slide for clarification as to what is a BUCS club . For use of Blades staff only.
