LCST/CSWB Overview Lanark County Child and Youth Services Collaborative Jan. 13, 2022
Lanark County Situation Table Project Aims to proactively address the root causes of crime by identifying risk factors that are prevalent in Lanark County and Smiths Falls and by building a plan to mitigate them in the future Two components: LCST and CSWB Collaboration with front-line agencies Provide immediate help to people at acutely elevated risk of harm through a situation table
Lanark County Situation Table Risk-intervention table 25 direct service agencies involved Meet virtually twice per month and ad hoc; four-filter process From Dec. 9, 2015 to Dec. 31, 2021, 284 discussions: 84% of those that met AER threshold had overall risk lowered Top referrers: Police (61%) Mental health agencies led/assisted in approx. half Mental health, criminal involvement and drugs top 3 risk categories by discussion Stats from RTD telling the story of the pandemic Development of non-AER process In 2021 surpassed the total number of referrals in 2020 and 2019 high complexity
Community Plan for Safety and Well-being for Lanark County in Smiths Falls Mandated by province; approved by municipalities in 2019 Multi-sectoral Advisory Committee and Working Groups advancing strategies Progress Update released early 2021; Insp. Karuna Padiachi and Elder Larry McDermott co-chairs 12 priority risk areas, overview for each, existing assets, actions for each risk area (Social Development, Prevention, Risk Intervention and Emergency Response), outcomes and measurables Ministry has not yet regulated reporting criteria or timelines; will be consulting municipalities re: an update to plan soon Living document that evolves as reported in progress updates A lot of work underway in Indigenous Health & Well-being, Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault, Housing, Culture & Diversity
Other Community Collaboratives Mobile Crisis Response Team Lanark County OPP and Lanark County Mental Health; nurse embedded at detachment since 2018 Victim Advocate (Collaborative Approaches to Survivor Engagement); partnership between LCOPP and Lanark County Interval House and Community Support since 2019; system navigation and training supports Networking with many groups/agencies informs CSWB plan progress and current issues
