Today- Prevention Workforce in Colorado, State of the State Colorado Prevention Specialist Certification(CPS) Recognized by International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) Currently Colorado has 68 Certified Prevention Specialists and 39 applications pending Why get certified?
Today- Prevention Workforce Training Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) contracts with local training and technical assistance firm to provide prevention related training. Training resources are abundant in Colorado and are shared across disciplines and agencies. OBH holds prevention specific, annual trainings for grantees.
Today- Challenges with Colorados Workforce Development! Prevention Specialist Certification Why get certified? What is the carrot? Limited financial resources support certification Requirements are loosely defined
Today, Tomorrow and Beyond- Solutions Statewide Needs Assessment Cross systems/cross agency look at substance use primary prevention services throughout the state. Identified gaps and opportunities to streamline existing efforts to prevent substance abuse in Colorado.
