  3. Our Challenge: 2024-2025 School Year is an election year. There is a Constitutional Initiated Measure on this ballot pertaining to eliminating property taxes: As a political sub-division Westhope Public School is not endorsing any side to this measure. But we want all voters to be informed

  5. Westhope School encourages ALL voters to be informed on how this measure could impact political sub-divisions and services

  6. There are many unknowns at this time on how this measure would impact Westhope School and our community. I have made a recommendation for a defensive disposition regarding taxation to best position Westhope School to be able to serve the students, families, and community for any possible outcome in the election.

  7. The Board Approved a Preliminary Mill Levy Certificate on July 31st. We are seeking community input on this preliminary plan both tonite and on September 11th Timeline and Process to Final Approval: March-July: Budget development, Board Finance Committee meetings, Board preliminary approval and preliminary submission to Bottineau County no later than August 10th August 10th-September: Stakeholder input is requested on August 13th Tax Transparency Meeting and the September 11th Community Truth in Taxation Meeting. The Board can reconsider/revise the preliminary Mill Levy Certificate October10th: Final Mill Levy Certificate filed with Bottineau County
