Definitions Literal meaning: The word community is comprised of two words. com and munis : Com means togetherness and Munis means to serve. Hence the word community means to serve together Views of Ogburn and Nimkoof: A community may be thought of as the total organization of social life within a limited area. Ginsberg s view: By community is understood a group of social beings living a common life including all the infinite variety and complexity of relations which result from common life or constitute it.
Definitions Views of Davis: A community is the smallest territorial group that can embrace all aspect of social life. Brown s view: By community we mean a small, diversified group of people-young and old male and female
