  2. Approximately 2,050,000 Virginians live in 804,000 homes in nearly 9,100 communities governed by community associations. Virginia Common Interest Community Facts & Figures Common Interest Community residents pay $4 billion a year to maintain their communities. 92,592 Virginians are elected to serve on community association boards each year, providing $118 million in service value. Homeowners associations account for 58 63% of the totals, condominium communities for 35 40%, and real estate cooperatives for 2 4%.

  3. The National Association for Amateur Radio data about Virginia Ham radio use from 2023: 70 American Radio Relay League ( AARL ) affiliated clubs. 5,500 ARRL members in Virginia. Net growth of 350 licensed ham radios in 2023 the highest increase since 2006 balanced against 500 ham radio licenses expired.

  4. Data on ham radio use in Virginia is limited national trend that ham radio use is declining: Minnesota Ham Radio reports that, nationally, the number of licensed ham radios dropped by 10,400 in 2022 and 14,600 mostly in the technician class the entry level license. For comparison, the number of licensed ham radio increased by 7,830 in 2020 and 7,252 in 2021. In total there is a net decline in licensed ham radios from 2020 to 2023 of approximately 9,918 nationally.
