A Report on Comparative Study of Worley School Health Project (Phase I (2021)& II (2022)) MANAGED AND CONDUCTED BY SYNERGY INDIA FOUNDATION HYDERABAD
Aim and Objective To provide clinical Anaemia & General screening, Eye & Vision Screening and Dental Screening to all 1207(2021) & 1525 (2022) girls in selected residential institutions of TSWREIS, TTWREIS and MJPTBCWREIS in the state of Telangana.
Methods & Procedures Eye & Vision Screening Protocol: Medical team from SIF conducted the eye & vision screening of children in selected schools. During the screening, refraction will be done and spectacle prescription was issued along with detailed ocular examination. Suspected children with major eye problems was referred to nearest partner eye hospital for further treatment.
Methods & Procedures General & Anaemia Screening Protocol: Auditory, speech and general physical screening of all girls conducted by Medical doctors from SIF along with diagnosis of Haemoglobin levels by using Accusure Hb meter (a point of care device).
Methods & Procedures Dental Screening Protocol: Dental Screening was conducted by a Sr. Dentist from SIF to diagnose the related ailments and prescribed medicines and clinical procedures to all needy girls.

Observations & Recommendations 1. On top, Anaemia is dominating cause of health disorders among all the girls. Nearly 50% of girls diagnosed with moderate of severe degree of iron deficiency. Must attend this issue on priority. 2. A total of 23% of girls were suffering with various degrees of visual impairment conditions which is effecting their academic performance as well as quality of life.
Observations & Recommendations compared to the previous screening the students with mild, moderate and severe anemia has increased. Diet rich in iron & folic acid. Medicine( IFA & VIT C) has to be provided to improve their hb values. Diet to maintain their hemoglobin levels.
Observations & Recommendations students with refractive errors when compared to previous year screening has reduced . vitamin A deficiency also has reduced compared to previous year. students with ptosis has reduced when compared to previous year.
Observations & Recommendations It shows increase in all minor dental abnormalities comparatively from 2021 to 2022 especially in tooth decay and flourosis We recommended to conduct regular oral hygienic awareness programs Immediately intervention for all abnormalities which prevents further loss or deterioration of the present tooth condition Training on good oral hygienic practices
