FC2 This is the practical assessment section of your Nebosh qualification You are required to complete a fire risk assessment using the Nebosh forms provided not any in-house forms you may use at work Please read the guidance provided as you need to ensure you put the information not only on the right form but also in the right columns If you need any assistance please contact us You will need to submit the original documents to us at Cambridge Safety within 10 days of your exam date or if you have already taken the exam ensure you check your documentation from us on when the final submission date is. As late submissions cannot be accepted due to the deadlines for marking
FC2 Marked out of 100 60 pass mark Five Documents to be completed You will need a workplace where you can access and carry out an inspection Focus is on fire and explosion issues not other H&S issues Must be real not fictional All documents should be handwritten ideally but can be typed if you prefer

Appendix 5 Fire Risk Assessment sheet 4. Appendix 6 Summary of Risk Assessment 5. Declaration To confirm submission is your own work The originals of all these documents must be completed and sent in to us at Cambridge Safety by the submission deadline
Appendix 3 Inspection Fire safety Practical Application OBSERVATIONS Hazards Must cover : CONTROL MEASURES Existing Controls Must cover: Controlled and uncontrolled hazards Factors which could increase or decrease the risk of fire spread Fire protection problems Factors which increase the risk to people Fire prevention measures Measures to reduce the spread of fire Measures to remove people Measures to reduce the risk of people being affected if there was a fire
Appendix 4 Form 1 Hazards associated with the 3 parts of the fire triangle Fire Hazard Id location and Who is at risk Measures Already in place Additional Fire Safety Measures Hazards associated with any part of the fire triangle Consider the technical measures covered in Element 4 Welding undertaken in areas where combustibles stored Employees (45) All building users (100) Staff training in welding Welding equipment pre use checks Visually check area and remove combustibles prior to starting work. Fire watch for 1 hour after work completed Purchase mobile welding screens Aim for 12 15 hazardsh reduce risk of heat and fire spread Aim for 15 existing controls
Appendix 5 Form 2 Fire risk assessment sheet Review inspection sheets for any issues which would increase the risk of fire spread and those which present a risk to people These go in column 1 Aim for 10 different issues at least Fire spread & risk of people ID Who is at risk & location Measures in place to reduce spread of fire/remove/redu ce risk to people HINT Additional fire safety measures to maintain or reduce risk Consider the technical measures and management issues Remove fire extinguisher from door Brief all staff on why fire doors must not be wedged open. Train fire marshals to do daily checks of fire exits Disciplinary action if this continues Fire door in workshop wedged open with fire extinguisher All building users None
Appendix 6 Summary of Risk Assessment (20 marks) Based on everything written on Form 1 & 2 describe the risk level of a fire occurring Describe the risk of fire spread Assessment of risks to persons from fire Rate each as high, medium or low You must justify your ratings for each section Fire risk assessment review date

Submission Issues Send in original documents Keep a copy RMSD / Recorded Delivery Plagiarism do not copy anyone else or show your forms or report to any other delegates Submit by 10 days after exam Your results will come out approximately 10 weeks after the exam date and will be emailed to the email address you provided on your exam entry form
